The UWUA Region IV Victory Conference Highlighted by Speech from UWUA V.P. VanSlooten

Veteran trainee participants of the UWUA Power for America and People’s Gas Initiative received a standing ovation as they were welcomed by their brothers and sisters of the Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) at the UWUA Region IV Victory Conference. The veteran trainees are currently receiving hands on training for gas industry work in Chicago. The UWUA Region IV Victory Conference was held in Chicago, Illinois from August 21st to 23rd.  Conference goers took part in break out sessions that were designed to strengthen local unions at the bargaining table, the shop floor and in the political arena as well.

Highlights of the Region IV conference included a special greeting by Steve VanSlooten, UWUA’s National Executive Vice President. VanSlooten shared a personal memory of his father who served in WWII.
