When Women Succeed, America Succeeds Initiative Pulls Into Chicago

Don Purley, a graduate of the UWUA Power for America Training Trust Fund and People’s Gas 6th cohort and a currentb full time employee of Peoples Gas, was greeted by Minority Leader of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Congresswoman Jan Schakosky as pictured below. Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky visited Teamster City on June 4, 2014 as part of a bus tour in support of the “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds” initiative. This initiative supports working women and equality amongst their male peers which has garnered support from New York to Chicago. As supporters of Unions, both Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky stressed the benefits of being a union member and being a woman, as equality is never an issue while inside a bargaining unit.
